WHO I AM

Hello, I am Stratis Skandalakis, the founder of Binaural Recordings.

I am a musician, composer, and field recordist, traveling to the most remote, unspoiled ecosystems in the world, equipped with my portable recorder, a backpack and a bunch of high-tech microphones. I gather these recordings with the aim to sensitize the public about the beauty of the sonority in nature and the necessity to preserve it.

WHAT I DO

Binaural recordings offers pure nature recordings, mostly soundscapes with no human-made noise pollution, 3D Audio Journeys and recordings of cultural interest, captured using different techniques like binaural, ambisonics, conventional stereo. It has the aim to make free nature recordings accessible to the public, as well as publish albums, and offer affordable sound libraries for audio professional use.

IT’S ALL ABOUT NATURE 

Binaural recordings has the mission to collect, learn, share and point out how beautiful, but fragile and vulnerable nature is. It has no sponsors, is independent and the only way to ensure its existence is by the support of the people, who think it is worth existing.
